I had a moment of being incredibly stressed and overwhelmed this morning, and it really got me thinking about how not only does it affect the way I feel, but those around me, too. After dropping off my kids to school, and feeling rather guilty about taking it out on them, I decided to pull over, lather myself in essential oils (of course!) and take a moment to consider why I had gotten in to such a yucky headspace.
You see, stress is never actually caused by the things that happen in our lives, rather its an emotion that is caused by our THOUGHTS, and the way THINK about a certain situation. It's almost easier to allow your mind to spiral out of control, and focus on something being far more complex than it actually is, than to work out a positive solution to the problem. When I reminded myself of this simple truth, I couldn't help but have a little giggle at how ridiculous my stress seemed, and that all I needed was a a plan of action to move forward with my day ✨
Next time you might be feeling stressed, ask yourself, "would I look back at this moment in a week, a month, or a year, and laugh at how silly it was?" if the answer is yes, then put a big smile on your face, and shift your focus from complexity to simplicity. We as humans, have the incredible ability to change the way feel about something in an instant, we simply have to master the art of it! x
