The daily rituals you choose are not only an indicator of the quality of your day, but by extension, the quality of your life.

When you consciously design a day that has rituals and habits throughout, this allows you more energy to make decisions from clear headspace, and avoids decision fatigue. I simply love creating my own daily protocol that in turn, helps me to feel balanced, consistent and productive.

Here’s what a typical day looks like for me:

Start the day by splashing my face with water, make the beds, get dressed + prepare school lunches. We always have music playing, and will also pop a fresh + uplifting oil blend in the diffuser to get everyone in a good mood. Next, I’ll drink a large glass of water with a drop of lemon essential oil for it’s detoxing and cleansing benefits. (I would only ever use doTERRA as I trust their purity.)

The kids usually have eggs, fruit and toast for breakfast, whilst my husband and I enjoy bulletproof coffee blended with coconut oil and ghee. It’s pretty much the best morning fuel for brain function and clarity. I then pop a drop of doTERRA frankincense under my tongue to help with my emotional wellbeing and cellular health, this one is a non-negotiable, for me!

Once I’ve dropped the kids to school and day care, I’ll pop the kettle on and make myself a cup of tea. I’ll sit down at the dining table and write in The Five-Minute Journal (the beautiful linen book pictured above). First, focusing on what I’m grateful for, and then taking a moment to write down my intentions for the day.

Right, now it’s time to get stuck into some writing. First, I roll an energising blend of citrus oils on my temples, then spend 9.30-12.30 doing priority work. I usually avoid emails or ‘admin’ during this time, as it’s when I am in the best creative zone.

Lunch is a haphazard salad of sorts, usually with some eggs, leftover roasted vegetables and a yummy sauce. I also take this time to prepare dinner so that I can hang out with the kids in the afternoon, rather than being in the kitchen.

If the weather is lovely, I’ll head out for a walk with our pup Ziggy, and listen to a podcast or audio book to get my daily dose of growth and education. I love Brooke Castillo from The Life Coach School Podcast. Check it out here.

After school, the kids and I love to visit the local op shops, library or beach.

Once the dinner dishes are put away, and kids are tucked up in bed, I’ll often get stuck into more work, or enjoy a bath infused with calming oils such as lavender, cedarwood or Roman chamomile, and a cup of Epsom salts for relaxation. My beauty routine is as simple as gently cleansing my face with a soft warm cloth, and putting on my homemade anti-aging serum with frankincense, lavender and ylang ylang. Before I turn out the lights for the evening, I’ll fill in the last section in my 5 Minute Journal (a reflection of my day) and spend half an hour or so reading to calm my mind. Lastly, I love to rub a blend of lavender essential oil and fractionated coconut oil all over the soles of my feet to ensure I get a deeper night’s rest.

And that’s it, really. A collection of my simple rituals that keep me on track with my health, happiness and self-care.
