CAROB, FIG + VANILLA MILKSHAKE

I’ve had a real thing for carob lately, with its delicate malt flavour and soft, natural sweetness. In this morning shake, it’s combined with frozen bananas, dried figs and a touch of pure vanilla for a heavenly start to the day.

2 frozen bananas
300ml almond or coconut milk
1 heaped tbsp carob, plus a little for dusting
4 dried figs or dates
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
pinch of sea salt

Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and dust with carob to serve.

Serves 2.
