CANDIED WALNUTS WITH MUSCOVADO + SEA SALT

Posted by Eleanor Ozich on
Friends! over the next 10 days, I'll be sharing 10 sparkly new recipes for homemade Christmas presents. First up, are these incredibly addictive candied walnuts. Toss them in your salad, scatter over icecream, or simply eat them from the jar!

1. Gently heat 1/2 cup muscovado sugar and 2 tbsp butter in a skillet over low-medium heat. Continue to cook, whilst stirring, for about 3-4 minutes, until bubbly and golden. Stir in 1.5 cups walnuts, and stir to coat.

2. Working quickly, tip the mixture out on to a tray lined with baking paper, and spread out in single-layer. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.

3. Allow to harden, about 5 minutes or so. Break up into pieces, and then pile into jars.

This is the basic recipe, however, you can easily fancy them up by adding additional flavours such as cinnamon, chilli or nutmeg. I hope you love them!
