Do you remember the golden days of blogging?

Back when I started my Petite Kitchen blogger site (12 years ago!) I fell in love with everything it offered: connection, creativity, community, a feeling of intimacy. It was an online diary where you so kindly followed the cooking musings I had to share, and to my surprise, many of you stuck around to share your kitchen stories with me, too! I can't help but feel nostalgic thinking about it all.

So much has happened since then. Seven books, five cookery courses, co-owning a Metro top 50 Cafe, raising three kids, the end of a marriage, and more recently, moving with my family to an entirely new part of Aotearoa. And through it all, I still return to the simple joy of cooking. This is what I love to share with you the most!

In this online world, I find myself increasingly overwhelmed with all the fast-paced content and endless apps that send my head spinning. I wish to avoid getting caught up in it all and continue to seek out ways to bring things back to basics. This is why I'm so pleased to share with you my newest online journal - Eleanor's Petite Kitchen

Easy and streamlined, this fresh and simplified space allows me to post recipes and send them to your inbox simultaneously. It's an online diary where I can honestly share the wins and losses, and all that is messy and beautiful. I'm learning as I go, just like you do with any creative endeavour, and I hope you'll join me during this exciting process!

Sounds lovely Eleanor, what does your new online journal include?

  • THE SIMPLEST RECIPES

Being a mother of three, my focus has always been on using easily accessible and cost-friendly ingredients. And when it comes to the recipes in my new online journal, you’ll find the ingredient lists are simpler than ever. In usual style, many of the recipes are free of gluten and dairy, or can be easily adapted. I pride myself on creating everyday recipes that are practical and affordable, and won't have you spending hours slaving over the stove.

  • HANDY TIPS FOR YOUR KITCHEN AND HOME

Each week, you'll receive a newsletter featuring an inspired new recipe, along with musings on living a simple, joy-filled life. I’m also looking forward to sharing exclusive home styling and renovation tips as we settle into our new Raglan abode. As a columnist for Your Home & Garden Magazine, creating a beautiful home space is just as exciting for me as whipping up a delicious meal to eat.
